Food Journal: Week 3

By Julie Preble, Assistant Editor

Week 3 – November 21, 2011
This week, I decided to cut potatoes out of my diet. This change will be a little bit harder for me, as I’m a huge fan of mashed potatoes.

Because I’m from the Midwest, I was raised on that “meat and potatoes” diet. However, I’m a big fan of sweet potatoes, so I at least have a good substitute.

This new week of my diet happened to fall right over Thanksgiving. While I used the holiday as my cheat day, it was a little harder to stay on track this week. I traveled to Portland, Oregon, to visit my sister.

As well as the easing up on the diet, I also wasn’t able to get to any kickboxing classes while I was away. I took two classes this week, rather than my normal three to four.

Weight lost: Because I was traveling and it was harder to stay on my diet, I decided not to weigh myself this week.
