Shortening Your Stirrups

If you compete in an event like the cow horse, it’s important that your stirrups are the correct length.

Different events require different stirrup lengths. In this video Brad Barkemeyer works with a rider who is coming over from the all-around and is used to riding with a longer stirrup. Brad adjusts her stirrups and explains the importance of riding in a shorter stirrup when working with cattle.
