Groundwork: Working Your Horse at Liberty

Brad Barkemeyer explains why it’s critical to form a relationship with your horse so that you’re able to work them at liberty.

It’s important to be able to work your horse by communicating to send signals through body language, using the spacing between you and your horse by having him yield to pressure. Doing liberty work with your horse also allows him to have a comfortable safe space standing quietly next to you, but still respecting you.
