You don’t need to have a death grip on your lead. Monique explains that the best way to lead your horse is with a more relaxed grip. Holding the lead too tight can create anxiety within your horse. Holding the lead too loose may accidentally teach your horse to pull through the feeling of the halter. Learning to hold the lead in the right place and knowing how to correct your horse ensures that you are having the right conversations with your horse.
